Today I took the minibus(es) to La Paz for my first solo adventure. La Paz is a great city with friendly people and lots to see. I decided to hop a minibus to anywhere after I got into town, and road around just looking at everything. Total cost: 4 Bolivianos (~65 cents). After a lunch of humitas and a cafe, I went to TIGO (a local internet provider) and secured my cell phone and mobile internet modem so I can Skype and do this stuff more easily. Success, both on Windows Vista (for video skype) and Ubuntu Linux (for my usual stuff). I got home at about 4 PM, and a little later, Diego Plá, CM, (from Mocomoco) dropped by. He’s in town for some diocesan retreat, and we’ll travel back to Mm on Friday for the weekend. Excitement builds. I’ll bring my camera and post some pix next week.
I also made final plans for Cochabamba. I’ll head down on Oct 17 and stay with the Daughters of Charity. I have tomorrow free, so with the help of a Cradlepoint USB router, I’ll try to make the house wireless.
Also, please pray for the Vincetian Lay Missionaries – USA. They will be on retreat in Chicago this coming weekend. That’s all for now.
