The “Ginjo School,” actually John Paul II school in Jimma, Ethiopia, was one of the teaching sites for the Vincentian Lay Missionaries this year. The folks were gathered into a community because they were afflicted with leprosy and had been living in a cemetery until the Daughters of Charity intervened on their behalf and worked with them to establish a new community of justice and respect. There is now a school, a mill, a women’s craft coop, and more to come!

“Ginjo Unleashed” was fantastic. Thanks for sharing and keeping us connected to this mission. I enjoyed the video tremendously, and it brought back many emotions from my own experience in Bahir Dar last year; especially when the children started to sing “Hello, good-bye!” Thanks again for sharing, Fr. Aidan.

It was so good to see the Sisters and the students again. I’ve loved hearing all of the stories this summer, but this really took me back…Thank you. 🙂
